Faith to overcome evil

"In my name you will cast out demons, and you will lay hands on the sick, and you will heal them." (Mark 16:17-18)  

 

The coming of the Lord Jesus, His ministry, His death and resurrection gave us all the authority to face enemies.

 

The prophet Isaiah was used by the Lord to announce a terrible sentence against the Egyptians. (Understand that in biblical language, Egypt personifies the enemies of God's people. We are not referring to human persons, but to evil spirits).

 

It says thus: "At that time, the Egyptians will be like women, and will tremble, and will fear because of the movement of the hand of the LORD of Hosts, because it will move against them. And the land of Judah will be an fright for Egypt; everyone to whom this is announced will be astonished, because of the purpose of the Lord of Hosts, of what he has determined against them." (Isaiah 19:16,17)

 

Isaiah declared that the Egyptians (who in biblical language represent the enemies of the people of God, that is, the evil spirits), would be like women. Without wanting to belittle women, but generally speaking, women are a failure in a war. Men die fighting, but when they see the situation getting worse, they break down in crying and retreat.

 

From likewise are evil spirits! They may even show themselves to be strong, (to their followers and those who fear them), make their threats; However, when faced in the Name of Jesus, they tremble and fear because of the hand of the Lord who began to move against them.  

 

The prophecy given by Isaiah was fulfilled when Jesus was crucified. At that moment, the work was done by the Lord Jesus, on the cross, and from there the Most High acts on behalf of His children. Therefore, none of us should fear the evil one nor his works, nor the diseases that are posed by them, because we have a "power of attorney" given us by Jesus Christ to act in His Name, and when we do, the power of God will come into play, and the angels will endeavor to carry out all that has been ordained in Jesus' Name.

"Perhaps the angels are not all ministering spirits, sent to serve for those who will inherit salvation?” (Hebrews 1:14)

”Bless the Lord all His angels; you who exceed in strength, who keep His commandments, obeying the voice of his word.” (Psalm 103:20)

 

Never be afraid of the forces of darkness, or that something bad will happen to you. It is often said that this was the cause of Satan getting permission to enter Job's life and causing him so much suffering. (Job 3:25)

 

Don't be afraid of anything that will stand up to you. Rise up in the faith of Our Lord and face evil. Whatever it is, it will fear, tremble and fall defeated before the mighty hand of God.
